In a desperate, last-minute effort, 116 adoptable dogs — many mothers and puppies — were rescued from euthanasia and flown from Los Angeles to Chicago on March 24. The emergency flight was organized in just 48 hours by Wings of Rescue and Paws for Life K9 Rescue. “It isn’t a second chance at life for them. It is their only chance at life,” said Rick Brody of Wings of Rescue.
