After spending over 900 days at the Bangor Humane Society, Bagheera has finally found a home. The beautiful Great Pyrenees mix arrived at the shelter as a stray when she was just about a year old. Despite her friendly and happy demeanor, her large size and resource guarding tendencies caused her to be overlooked by potential adopters. However, the community rallied together to help her find a home.
From attending special fundraising proms to appearing at events, Bagheera was always smiling and eager for hugs from her favorite people. She even appeared on pizza boxes from Zeppa’s Pizzeria, which offered $150 in gift certificates to promote her adoption. Years passed, but the shelter never gave up on championing Bagheera. Still, the question remained—would she ever meet that special someone willing to take a chance on her?
Enter Kreg Attender. He was interested in meeting Bagheera and got a gradual introduction to her. The two hit it off and officially adopted her. Bagheera already seems to know she’s met her family and is so happy. Explaining why he chose her, Kreg said, “Sometimes you do have to take a chance, and take a little bit of a risk and know yourself well enough to know you are willing to do and what resources you have.”
