How to Make Delicious Ice Cream For Dogs

Ice cream may seem like a delicious treat to share with your dog, however, the cream (or milk) can cause them stomach upset and could cause gas, bloating, constipation and even diarrhea or vomiting. The icy treats also include sugar, which is not great for their teeth or their weight. That’s where these tasty alternatives for dog-friendly ice cream comes in.
Gemma Stafford shares her wonderful recipes for ice cream for dogs, because why should humans have all the fun?
Gemma’s dog Waffles is a Wheaton Terrier/Lhasa Apso mix, who she adopted from the NKLA shelter in Los Angeles and he’s the perfect co-host to show everyone how to make ice cream for dogs.
The three recipes include:
– Strawberry and banana ice cream for dogs made with: 10 strawberries, 1 ripe banana and 1 cup natural plain yogurt (low fat, non fat).
– Oatmeal and cinnamon ice cream includes: 1 small ripe banana, 3/4 cup cooked oatmeal, 1 tsp cinnamon and 1 cup plain yogurt.
– Peanut butter & ‘Jelly’ Ice cream includes: 1 ripe banana, 1/2 cup peanut butter (unsalted, smooth, no xylitol), 1 cup plain yogurt, 5 strawberries.
